Lesson 4 of 5
In Progress

Present Simple – Forms – Negative

We use don’t/doesn’t + infinitive to make questions.

Note: In a more formal / written conversation, you would use do not / does not instead of the shortened version.

  • I don’t drive.  / I do not drive.
  • She doesn’t play tennis. / She does not play tennis.
Practice forming negative sentences in the present simple:
He likes ice cream.
She doesn't like ice cream.
They cycle home from work.
They do not cycle home from work.
I kick the ball with my left leg.
I don't kick the ball with my left leg.
She runs in this marathon.
She does not run in this marathon.
It applies to you too.
It does not apply to me, either.
